Frequently asked questions
- What is a good frame time?
- Frame time is just the inverse of FPS: 60 FPS is 16.67 ms, 144 FPS is 6.94 ms. What matters more than the average is consistency — evenly spaced frames feel smoother than a higher but erratic frame rate.
- Why does my game stutter at high FPS?
- A single frame that takes far longer than the average breaks the cadence. If you average 144 FPS (6.94 ms) but one frame takes 30 ms, you see a hitch even though the counter still reads high.
