About TechGamingDaily

TechGamingDaily publishes gaming data that is worth checking more than once: live player counts, weekly free games, and calculators that answer a specific question in one screen.

Where the data comes from

• Player counts — Steam Web API (GetNumberOfCurrentPlayers) and Valve's most-played ranking (GetMostPlayedGames). Both are official, public endpoints.
• Game details, prices and requirements — the Steam store's public appdetails listing for each game.
• Review scores — Steam's public review summary endpoint.
• Free games — the Epic Games Store public promotions catalog.

How often it updates

The whole site is rebuilt once a day from a scheduled job. Nothing is written by hand, and nothing is estimated. Last data refresh: 2026-10-01T19:00:01+00:00.

Limitations worth knowing

Steam figures cover Steam only — console, Game Pass, Epic and standalone launchers are not included, so a game's true audience can be much larger than the number shown. Daily figures are the peak recorded for that date. Calculator results are estimates for planning, not guarantees.

Corrections

If a figure looks wrong, it almost always means the upstream API returned something unusual that day; the next daily rebuild corrects it automatically.
